Brian has managed discovery, conducted and defended depositions, drafted pleadings and motions at all stages of litigation and participated in mediation and binding arbitration. He has also contributed to briefs while appearing before the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court.
He is admitted to practice in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Before joining Higgins, Cavanagh & Cooney, Brian practiced at a regional litigation firm headquartered in Boston and clerked for the in-house legal department of a multinational company.
He is a 2005 graduate of the College of William & Mary with a B.A. in history and received his J. D. cum laude from Suffolk University Law School, concentrating with distinction in international law. He served as a law review editor and represented his law school at national and international competitions in trial and appellate advocacy.
Prior to law school, Brian worked in management positions for two of the nation’s largest insurance companies. He joined Higgins, Cavanagh & Cooney as an Associate with the firm’s Litigation Practice Group in 2017 and has been recognized as a “Rising Star” in highly regarded peer-review surveys conducted by both Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers.
